Gifted

I know most parents think their kid is gifted. Everybody seems to be jumping on the bandwagon these days claiming some kind of giftedness in their offspring...

But my kid really IS gifted. Really.

Treyton has it down to a science. With no help, prodding, encouraging or drilling, he manages to fill his diaper nearly EVERY time he gets in his crib. It's like he saves it up and doles it out carefully and methodically. He loves his mommy and wants to make sure she has ample opportunity to serve!

::sigh::

...off to do yet another load of cloth diapers. At least I'm not having to run to the store and throw more money away on diapers. And yes, I'm thankful for the opportunity to put aside my own selfishness and serve others. Really.

Countdown!

I love countdowns. It really helps the boys get a grasp on the concept of time. ...or at least help them while away the time until they get to do __ thing!

So when I saw this over at Make and Takes, I knew it was the perfect countdown for our trip back to St. Louis for Thanksgiving.

Each day we discuss what it means to be thankful and write down something that we are thankful for. When all of the feathers have been so written on, we get to hop on that plane to go see Mima and Pa!

I'm going back and forth on letting him creatively come up with things that he is thankful for (playing football inside) and teaching him about all of the wonderful things we can thank God for (food, our home, brothers, etc...). It's been a fun balancing act!

Double Date Night

Sunday nights are double feature night!!!

While Xander is at Cubbies, Keegan and I have a special date night OUT! It has been so much fun to spend special time with him. His vocabulary has exploded in the last few months making our time together even more enjoyable! I think it also helps for him to have a chance to talk without Xander there doing it for him! We've been spending a lot of time over at Water Ranch, feeding the ducks, running around and enjoying the sunsets!

But the fun does not end there! After we've put the boys to bed, Rich and I have "date night IN"! Getting a babysitter on a weekly basis is challenging, so we've decided to devote Sunday nights to specifically spend time together. You'll find us playing games (in a very gracious, peaceful and non-competitive way, naturally) or watching Sunday night football and cheering on our respective fantasy football players!

I am one blessed lady!
